About CIPHER TECHNOLOGIES

Cipher Technologies was incorporated prior to the completion of the first (1st) year of the new millennium. The company was chartered to accommodate the product design and manufacturing communities with fast and reliable product designs while avoiding excessive overhead or long and costly development cycles. The company founder, E. Phillip Joseph, is a graduate of Tufts University and received a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1982. He began his engineering career with the Components Division of Motorola Inc. in Franklin Park, Illinois. After a few years he transferred to the base station development group with the Fixed Products Division of Motorola in Schaumburg, Illinois. During this period he attended the Illinois Institute of Technology parttime where he received a Masters in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Circuits & Electronics in 1988. Mr. Joseph has spent over twenty years (+20) with product development and design groups, much of that time in the employ of Fortune 100 and 500 companies. He has spent over eleven (+11) years designing communications equipment for major technology giants such as GTE, AT&T, and the Boeing Corporation. Mr. Joseph has worked with several product design teams developing wireless products. Mr. Joseph has also developed innovative automotive and industrial products, engine control modules (ECMs), and electronic power steering systems (EPS). Mr. Joseph has developed airborne data recorders (ADRs), signal data computers (SDCs), and safe-arm & fire devices (SAFDs) for military defense.

With almost fourteen years experience in consulting, Mr. Joseph has had the opportunity to also serve the community as Membership Chair of the Alumni Extension, National Society of Engineers. He is a past member of the Arizona Council of Engineers and Scientists (ACBES). Mr. Joseph has served on an advisory board of the Phoenix Urban League: The Employment Skills Enrichment Consortium. He is a past member of the American Society for Quality Control (ASQC) and was certified a Quality Engineer in 1983. He is a member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), the Circuits and Systems (CAS) Society within the IEEE, and the Chicago/Rockford chapter of the IEEE Consultants' Network. Mr. Joseph was recently a voting member of the IEEE P1616 Draft Standards Committee for Motor Vehicle Emergency Data Recorders (MVEDR) recently released in September 2004 [ISBN: 0-7381-4498-3].
